EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO COLD WEATHER

On February 3, the skiing community across Canada will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for making the most snow angels at the same time in multiple locations. The current record is 15851. Over 50 ski hills and resorts across Canada will be participating in the attempt.

The effort is being held as part of Canadian Ski Patrol Day, a day that honours the life-saving work undertaken by the 4,500 volunteer ski patrollers providing advanced first aid and rescue services to more than 220 ski hills and resorts across Canada.

The angels will appear on the Bunny Hill starting at 10am. For this to happen, we need to be at the lift  by 9:45am to get ready ourselves and recruit more people.

Sweep will be a bit earlier than usual, aiming for 9:20am to be at the lift quicker.

Feb 2nd Update:

If SIMA is OPEN: We proceed with the event as planned.

If SIMA is CLOSED: The official event gets cancelled. People are still encouraged to make their angels at home and submit pictures on the Yukon CSP Facebook page.

We might only know at 7AM if Sima is closed or not. However, I’m guessing we will get this information later tonight.
